I can only second Theresa. Actually, her primary (who was especially fond of my mother) told us exactly the same words: 'the hearing will e the last to go'. My mother would nod or crease her forehead days into her coma. The nurses always spoke loud and clear to her and were very respectful. Sometimes she would sigh loudly minutes after we'd gotten up from the bed and we now believe she just couldn't react very fast and that the sighs were her way of acknowledging she had heard us. Odd as it is, as I write this I remember those days filled with beautiful moments, too - definitely intense. She is NOT gone yet and you should make the most of every moment. Again, sorry if I've gone on for too long...Ilsabe
