I just re-read your post. About the body heat, we were told it was a 'thirst fever'. Has your mother stopped fluid intake? We cooled her off with cloths wrapped in cold water around her wrists and ankles and that really helped within a few hours. We didn't want to let her drink water because she wasn't really able to swallow any longer and anything would come up. So we dabbed all the inside of her mouth, her gums, everywhere inside, with mineral water. The nurses said the sparkle would feel really refreshing. Even after she lost consciousness, she would bite around the foam stick to suck out water! She really seemed to like being dabbed with the water. The nurses also brushed her teeth and I believe that was nice for her, too. Sorry if I went on for too long - I just think you can do many things to keep the loved ones comfortable, and I think they sense a lot more than we think. Take care...Ilsabe
