Hi Kathy..I had stage 3 with 1 node involvement. I had my surgery in Sept 2001. I only had chemo..no radiation. There was no hair loss..and very minimal side effects. Weight loss is common. I feel great now..but I'm not familiar with the 'extensive perineural invasion.' Recovery can be very slow with many frustrating setbacks. Try and stay hopeful.
