Birgit: Thanks for your posting. I had a lot of pain before radiation/5FU, but now, even though my cancer is recurring, the pain has not come back. I have slight twinges, here and there. No, I'm not Russian. I'm an American of Polish origin. Off course, alternative approaches are greatly popular in Poland also. I've heard of the urine cure, but don't think it should be taken seriously. The only alternative approach I tried was the macrobiotic diet (brown rice and cooked veggies basically), becaue I read an article of a study that came up with evidence proving PC patients on macrobiotics lived longer. I lost so much weight on it I was lightheaded every time I got up from a sitting position. I decided to eat normally (except meats), because I wanted to help my bone marrow rebound from the toxic effect of Gemzar. I regained 15 lbs. in spite of recurrent cancer. That gives you some idea what a strict macrobiotic diet will do to your weight. I understand that they are starting to use thalidomide again, here and in Europe, for some cancers. All my best, Eva
