Unless you have been a family member of someone with pc or are living with the disease yourself you, even as a doctor, do not know the multitude of emotions that is experiences in just a minute of our lives...I am so sorry to say that I feel your com
ment to Lori was very insensitive...I guess some people as they go through medical school spend so much time and effort in their studies and with the technical end of things that they forget the human side...I do know that doctors do feel badly for p
eople, our surgeon went in and then realized it was too late for my husband and did him back up...he could hardly look at me, the sorrow he felt that he could not fix this was apparent on his face...BIG DIFFERENCE....OUR SURGEON NEW HIS STUFF....it w
asn't through his lack of knowlege that his attitude came forth...As you would have read...Lori's dad's doctor did the honorable thing and appologize and retained a doctor for them that had more knowlege in the are of pc...the brownie points he lost
he regained....you I am worried about...learning how to be appropriate with your responses to patients emotional needs and gaining a better "bedside manner" might be something to consider...This may not be your fault....you may be a
ed doctor that knows his stuff....but maybe you need to leave the emotional needs to someone more equipped....
PS. that little message you lefts to David T was a little bit childish...not what I expected from a "Doctor"
