Hi Hall

Sorry to hear your news. I'm truly glad you have found this board for love and support and advice though. As many on here will tell you, it is almost impossible to predict how the sands of time will shift for individuals, but take heart from the fact that doctors play the percentage/statistics game and many many people exceed the doc's predictions!

My friend Mark (aged 47) was diagnosed in Janury this year - sounds similar to your husband - inoperable with spread to liver and spleen. He is having chemo (gemcitabine and cisplatin) and is struggling through the chemo, the difficulty eating, the depression and the inevitable fatigue, with some days better than others. We don't know yet if the chemo is working but many have had positive results with this, in terms of seeing the tumour shrink and even making it operable in some cases (but it has to clear off the liver first before an op will be considered).

Best to try and take each day as it comes, do as much research as you can, soak up all the info and wisdom offered on this board, get 2nd/3rd/4th opinions and join the fight!

Welcome to the board. Keep posting and I truly hope this community is of much help and support to you and your husband as it has been to everyone else on here.

Take care of yourself and try to stay positive. There is hope, as you will learn from many of the experiences on here.

Nicola
