Hello there. I know you dont want to be here, but welcome to the board. I tried copying and pasting but wdnt work. You can go at the top of this page and click on the the blue lettering for RESEARCH then click on at the top right hand side of the page FAQs, then I believe it is #7 that talks about unresectable PC. Basically, though, this means that the mass has metasticized to other parts and a whipple operation is not an option. This is laymen terms, of course. My mother,63yrs, was dx(diagnosed) on 1/30/03 w/mets(metasticized) to the liver. This wd mean she is not a candidate for a resectable operation/ie whipple operation. Im new to this stuff so hopefully this helps. Were you diagnosed w/PC or was it a loved one? Im sorry for the news as this is always a very difficult time for everyone involved. You are not alone and you are among friends. Christine R-WI
