Maybe my words were too harsh the last few attempts I made to reply...I will try this again. You would know this to be true about my fathers condition because....you have read his reports, are in-fact the doctor who is treating him, or just because you feel a need to support another doctors behavior??? Please excuse me for acting as I do, but your message really was of no comfort, and not much different than what I put up with at the hospital yesterday! Here is an up-date for you...the Dr. wh om we are having problems with phoned me at my home, to leave his home phone number so that he could "appoligize" to us. He admitted he was not verse in treating PC but had contacted someone in the field who was, and was indeed told that if my dad w anted to try Gemzar, he should!!! I will never accept this horrid, ugly, un-cureable cancer....not the day my dad does die, or the day I die! The professional side of me is trying to see that you were just taking up for one of your own colleagues. I myself am a journalist, but if I felt that another journalist was hurting someone else in their writing, or reporting...and god knows many, many do...I could not stand beside them and expect the family or person that they hurt, to "give them a bre ak". I feel much better knowing that this doctor we are dealing with was honest with us and had the guts to admit his wrongs! It bothers me to think that you too are in the medical field and can reply to my message without seeing my face as I read i t. I will be sure to say an extra prayer for you too Dr. Peters.
