Dear Bev, Have you read the book "Final Gifts"? The thing your Mom is saying about horses and chairs may actually mean something and she is trying to convey it to you. I am sorry that your Mom is not doing very well. I really pity your Dad seeing the love of his life suffer so. I lost my Dad a year and a half ago and it was tough seeing him in the hospital for so long, but he never suffered the way Mom is with this cancer. (Dad had a quadruple bypass following a massive heart attack). At the end, we had all accepted that he would not be with us very long and now I have come to the same realization about my Mom. It is still very hard as you have to witness the day to day struggle for life. Keep us posted on your Mom as we do all care. Carol S
