Here's a brief thumbnail history:
Female; Born 1959
Jan 2002 - looking jaundice with no pain or other symptoms; initial concern was possible gallstones.
February 2002 - CT scan and ERCP confirmed narrowing in common bile duct; refered by local specialist to John Hopkins.
March 2002 - Had Whipple done by Dr. John Cameron; tumor staged at T1M0NX - no lymph node involvement or mest. to any surrounding tissues.
June 2002 - started radiation at Inova Alexandria Hospital for 5 weeks with chemo drug Xeloda.
03/2003 - I'm now coming up on a first anniversary and things look and feel pretty good. Not taking any meds at this time and the digestive track seems to have settled down. Though sometimes, I still feel like I have an alien running around in my colon.
I'd be interested in talking with some long term survivors to find out how things have faired.
