What great spirit (and energy !) you have - and you obviously made an old man very happy too! I hope you don't mind me asking, I am new to this board - did you have whipple or was your tumour inoperable? Is it anywhere else? What sort of treatment have you been receiving and what sort of progress did you make in the early days?
My friend was diagnosed just over a month ago and told his tumour was inoperable. Cancer has also spread to his liver and spleen. He is on his two half hour sessions of cisplatin followed by one whole day of gemcitabine, followed by a rest week, then the cycle is repeated three times.
I'm interested to find out more about how you have made what sounds like such good progress. Have you struggled with your appetite/eating at any stage? My friend is struggling quite a lot to eat and wonder if you have any tips. he has also been sick since his full day of combination chemo.
Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing your hike with us!
