The chemo combination your mom is on sounds similar to one Dr. Isacoff in Los Angeles at UCLA recommended for his patients. He has had some success in extending patients live's with PC, so your oncologist may be on the right track for now. Everyone responds differently and hopefully your mom will do very well on it. One question is how long does it take for your mom to receive the Gemzar?

My dad saw a different oncologist at a comprehensive cancer center who said latest studies show that the longer infusion time of Gemzar showed better results. Gemzar should be given over two hours and not less than one. Knowledge is power and what you learn can help you know some of what to expect or you will recognize it from what someone else has shared here. Keep asking questions. Mary
