I still remember the moment I found out about my dad. I cried for so long and started researching immediately. It is important to move as quickly as possible with this cancer because it does not go slow. Hopefully your dad will be a candidate for the whipple. It took so long for my dad to be diagnosed that by the time he saw the surgeon, his tumor had grown twice the size (4cm to 8cm). When you find out more details (whether it has spread or there is vein involvement), please post that information. You will often get a variety of answers and recommendations and then you can do what is best in your situation.

Dianne
