Are you aware that there are different types of pc which may affect the type of specialist your Mom should see? The most common type of pc is adneocarcinoma (sp?) and there is an islet cell cancer that is discussed on this board.
On the main page of this board is a purple ribbon (Pancan site) which provides alot of info. The 'PALS' section can help you to find a pc specialist in your area. There phone number is 1-877-2-PANCAN. You may also want to try this address: www.pancan.org/1teamhope/index.html. Team hope are local groups that form and help raise funds and awareness of pc. Maybe there is one in your area.
I also have a booklet from the National Cancer Inst. on pc and they offer help to patients and their families (PH: 1-800-4-CANCER.) They also offer these websites: http://cancer.gov & http.//cancertrials.nci.nih.gov which can lead you to clinical trials and specialists offered in your area.
Have you visited the National Pancreas Foundation site? (www.pancreasfoundation.org). They also have a clinical trial and physicians section.
I hope your Mom gets good news from her scans. I also hope some of this
helps you and is not redundant to your prior searches. Good luck and welcome
to the site, GLE
