Mum is leaving hospital today after a bypass operation. The Oncologist told her he believes using radiotherapy and chemo (Not Gemzar) was the way to go. He told her Gemzar would not kill it just slow it down. She also has diabetes type 1 diagnosed only 6 months ago which they believe is related to Chronic fatigue. The oncologist didn't believe it was Type 1. Don't really understand. Any advice with regards to the radiotherapy. Her surgeon thought it might make her too sick. The tumour is in the head of the pancreas and has wrapped itself around blood vessels making it inoperable. They don't think it has spread. Anyone else with type 1 or chronic fatigue as well would be helpful. Also how long should it be left before treatment after surgery? Thanks Debbie
