i know that he will be out of town until next tuesday...he is very good about getting back to people and e-mail has worked well for me...he located a specialist in new orleans to treat my recurrance...i have a neuroendocrine tumor which is different from your mom's tumor type...he was very kind but also realistic...chemo , with few exceptions , does not work well for my type of tumor so he explained that to me and also discussed quality of life vs. quantity of life...i am 39 so both of these are relevant to me and i am sure that all pts. would agree on this...i have told my family that i will do all i can to fight my disease and i will continue to seek tx as long as i feel the benefit outweighs the losses...at some point i may have to decide that i have had enough and i will want them to support my decision...i guess i am sharing this with you so that you may have some knowledge from a pt.'s perspective...i hope that there is some tx that will benefit your mom...i wish her good luck on this quest and she is blessed to have a good son like you...take care...alisa
