The reason you are being suggested to proceed quickly is that if the Whipple is for pc, pc moves quickly. Be sure that you have the best hospital and best doctor/team. This a a very long and serious proceedure and the more often a hospital/team does the proceedure, the better your chances. The Whipple offers hope but not knowing how extensive your problem is, it is difficult to know what your recovery/treatment will involve. You will be offered radiation and chemo after you have recovered. Do it. I had the operation in October 1996 and am well and active. Keep up your spirits. Fight it. Best wishes, Bob
