I thought that posting this message would give some of you a little bit of hope as you fight this disease. This past October, my grandfather-in-law was diagnosed with PC. As in many of the cases written about on this board, it was misdiagnosed until he finally turned so jaudice there wasn't a question what was wrong. He had several procedures done, including a bilinary bipass (which didn't work) which was followed by an operation to insert a stent (after he had lost about 20 pounds. After it was all said and done, the doctors gave him two weeks to live (the news came around xmas time). Those words coming from the doctor's mouth was such a tramatic blow to the family. Chris and I were getting married in six months, and there were so many things to look forward to.... Well, after the stent began to work, he became stronger and eventually began chemo and radiation. After his first group of treatments were over, the CATscan showed that he was in REMISSION!!! That was back in April. Well, two weeks ago, Chris and I got married. Gramps was out on the dance floor and booggied sp? until he couldn't boogie any more!! We are thinking of sending his doctor a picture to let him know that you should not give up hope. I think Gramps will outlive all of us!!! I guess I tell the story to remind you to never give up hope and savor every moment you have, because time is precious with your loved ones--no matter if it is a long time or short time. Best wishes to all of you, Joan Sebring (aka Cameron)
