It is so hard to be in your position. Encourage your dad to do things now if
he is able to do so. Take that trip, see someone he hasn't in years, go out
and have quality time as long as his health permits. Ask hospice about
having a social worker speak to him about his depression. Or have a family
minister, pastor, priest, etc speak to him. We will all die eventually and
some of us will put off what we should do now or wish we should have done or
said to someone who did die unexpectantly.
I recall in one of the Chicken Soup books for the Soul about a line where it
said something like, if we knew the world was going to end in five minutes
who would you call and why aren't you calling them now. Hang in there, I
know it's tough for you, too. Mary
