have had hy hubby on essiac tea since the beginning(June 1)you can do a search to find out more about it-he drinks it 3 times a day---if you have questions about preparing, you can email me. I also give him supplements--9000mg vit c-preferably sodium ascorbate--potentiates action of chemo--CoQ10, green tea extract, spirolina, raw pancreas capsules, cell forte (IP6 and inositol), chondroitin, 12000 mg a day--this is bovine (cow) tracheal cartilage--supposedly more effective than shark cartilage--shark cartilage must be taken in massive quantities via an enema--and would have to be ordered in bulk--thousands of dollars--we skipped this--also NOT chondroitin sulfate(arthritis supplement),daily vitamin--like centrum, iron supplement-1 tablet--so far so good--the dr said the chemo is effective in only 25% of cases and hubby's cea count has gone from 985 to 154--has gained 20 lbs, no pain. He's in stage iv-mets to liver, lung, pelvic bone. I give him lots of calories in small portions throughout day--stay away from acidic foods-you want to create an alkaline environment--nuts are great snacks-about 600 calories in 1/4 cup. I am going to order Fred's vitamins. Anyway, we can see that something is working--chemo, tea, supplements, honest FAITH--which when I mentioned to onco, he responded 'I guess a little denial is fine' we never mentioned THAT again. You have to know your audience. However, he is also aware of all the supplements and is okay with it--he's very clinical and scientific and lives by statistics--he refers to the supplements as 'rearranging furniture on the Titanic'--I KNOW something is working--chemo-gemzar and cisplatin and everythng else we are doing--so we are sticking with it. This is war. God bless.
