Kay, First my prayers and a hug. Do you think that your friend Anna may be in denial or perhaps some of her metabolism and other functions are already off because of the PC. Sounds like you are doing your best for her by being there and offering support. I think this PC takes a lot out of a person - my own Aunt who had always been a fighter (she beat breast cancer), seemed to try so hard but would lose balance, didn't have a lot of appetite, needed lots and lots of rest. She passed yesterday and as I have been thinking about it (we had been wondering how hard she was fighting) I really think she gave it her all but it is a TOUGH and usually losing battle. Just be there for your friend - do things that make her happy (flowers, music, talk about your day to get her mind off her troubles). Being there is the best gift you can give her. Best of luck.
