Well, a couple of days ago (8/4/02) my parents (mid 50's)(living in New Zealand) told me that after a couple of weeks of stomach pain my father (Reg) has been diagnosed with PC. After a biopsy & CT scan, we are told that it is adenocarcinoma, and the scan shows it to be about 5cm. He is scheduled for a laparoscopy in a couple of days which, we are told, will better confirm the size... The doctors have said that they are very reluctant to perform surgery)
He appears in fine spirits to my family in NZ (I'm 29 and live in San Francisco). His pain fairly well controlled by paracetamol. He sleeps restlessly and wakes frequently. His appetite (usually huge!) is reduced and he only feels like eating light, healthy, meals.
My mother, usually very level and sensible, formerly a nurse, appears to be more stressed and upset.
I've been studying info on the net! (I found this site very helpful) I was surprised when my mother told me that they haven't looked up any info. It's quite unlike them, although I suspect my father has, privately...
