Pancreas Cancer Web
Husband and father, Brad, died on July 21, 2002. Brad was diagnosed on March
28,2002 after emergency gallbladder surgery. Cancer of the pancreas was
found, stage IV, mets to liver, spine and lunch. Two chemo treatments during
the last 7 weeks of his life, but opted for no more as cancer had spread way
too far. Was cared for by local hospital, and second opinion at Fox Chase
agreed with local hospital care regime. Caregiver was wife and sister, who
did an OUTSTANDING job making this man happy and comfortable. Didn't eat for
7 weeks, then woke up 'starving' about a week before death. He ate several
small meals, pudding, snacks, etc. Was happy, gave many final gifts, had
bouts of nausea, but NO PAIN (thank you, God!). We miss you, Brad!
