Glad I scrolled down to see your post. Lou has done incredibly well with the combo. Once in awhile the Gemzar/taxotere will effect him as far as being tired and feeling alittle sick. But it doesnt last long. His basic schedule is: 2 weeks Xeloda, 1 week off...gemzar with taxotere every three weeks, Mitomycin-C on the 2nd week. But, the oncologist also decides at the time of the visit. For instance...he had the Gem/tax 2 weeks in a row recently. The results have been short of amazing. Lou is 54, very strong physically and 220 lbs. So, this may also be why he handles the chemo so well. If your mom does not want to give up, it should be her choice. Find a doc that will fight with her. Good luck to you both. Melanie
