One of the 1st RX meds. post Whipple for my Mom was for enzymes. There are several, with different dosage levels and note: frequency of administration. Mom is still on Protease MT 20mg. She takes 1 at the 3 main meals. I know others that take 2 with each meal and 1 with a snack. The pancreas help digest food, when surgically altered or removed then the digestive system is compromised, thus needing help with enzymes. Please do ask the Dr. about enzymes. Liz
