It may sound like a long time to you, but from the information I've gotten from my Mom's doctors and from what I've read, it's a normal time span - I think the 'norm' is about every 3 months for blood work and scans unless there is some reason to check something more often -

Of course, you can always get a second opinion - maybe call another oncologist just to ask - but, I guess if you have reason to trust this oncologist - if he has a good reputation in treating pc, then I'd probably lean toward going with his opinion -

I want to let you know, though, that I do know how you feel - it's kind of like, since you want to catch anything that may develop as early as possible - that you feel like taking a scan everyday to be able to catch the slightest change -
