My pill book describes Zyprexa (generic name Olanzapine) as a potent antipsychotic prescribed for psychotic behavior and 'only for people with a chronic condition.' There are a bunch of scary-sounding possible side effects that are apparently associated with antipsychotics as a class of drugs, as well as these listed as most common for Olanzapine: headache, tiredness, agitation, sleeplessness, nevousness, hostility, dizziness, and runny nose. I guess if this is the only drug effective against the delirium then the possible side effects are worth risking.

By the way, I bought 'The Pill Book'($6.99) and 'The Merck Manual of Medical Information'($7.99) paperbacks at Walgreens and they have been very useful. Best wishes.
