I don't know how long your mom is gone but I can tell you that in the beginning you are so relieved that the suffering is over, and your anxiety about what will happen next has finally been put to rest, so you experience a sort of mellow time. Glad that this nightmare is over and probably physically and mentally exhausted, your body is taking a reprive. But in my case, my mom is gone 8 years now, I remember it hitting me one day real bad about 6 months after she was gone. And even now that I have had time to heal, I every now and then get a very 'blue' feeling missing my mom terribly. Every one grieves differently and no way is the right way, so if you are having a good day?be thankful, if you are experiencing a bad day?know it willpass. Death is something we get used to, I don't know if we ever accept it!
