I had Whipple on 5/21/01 for duodenal cancer. Have only now had a sort of normal looking stool (this week--an exciting moment for me!!)Always pale, always pasty, greasy. I even asked my surgeon if he forgot to re-hook-up the bile duct (bile makes your stool brown) which he did not find humorous at all! It is certainly worth mentioning but , from my year's experience, pale stools, often large in volume, seems to be normal. I tried digestive enzymes (Creon) thinking it was malabsorption but did not see any change.
