I am sorry your step-mother is giving you such a hard time. I would try to ignore it and do what you think is best for your dad. If he wants you there, then be there. She is probably having a rough time right now emotionally, just as you are, and probably isn't thinking about what she is saying.

As far as your vacation being during your dad's birthday and Father's Day, you can celebrate both of those days early with your dad. Do whatever you would have done on those days with him earlier and tell him that. Recently, my 10th wedding anniversary passed and I forgot all about it because there were so many other things going on. My husband forgot too, so I didn't feel so bad. When I mentioned it to him, he said that dates are not important. What is important is how you treat each other every day, not just on special days. There are some people who acknowledge their fathers on Father's Day and on their birthdays. The important thing is to acknowledge him the rest of the time which you are already doing. That's only my opinion.
