i was wondering if anyone has been able to have the whipple even with the vein involvement?? i have read that there are doctors at anderson and hopkins who can do the whipple even with vein involvement. they can radiate the tumor away from the portal vein during surgery and then repair the vein. or they can do a vein resection with a jugular vein? anyone have any ideas?? my mom's oncologist is trying to shrink the tumor so that she can have the whipple but i am worried that if they can't shrink it enough then i should look into a surgeon somewhere esle who can do the surgery even with the vein invasion. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!
