Wow, your doctors really did drop the ball. 6 months of pain with no tests is inexcusable!! I hope you are suing if only so that you can spend time and money looking for the best care and treatment for your dad. My mom's first symptem was a blood clot to the lung. They put her on coumadin and figured that was that. She then complained about her foot being sore and so he told her it was tendenitis. Of course, that didn't get any better because it was actually more clots forming in her feet. The hemotologist knew right away to look for a tumor and do a cat scan. Thank Goodness she had finally gone to the ER. I wonder if the tardy diagnosis (2 mos.) shortened her life at all. To make matters worse, once they figured out it was pc, Her idiot GP went to her hospital room after nine on a Friday night to tell her. If my brother-in-law hadn't snuck in after visiting hours to see Mom she would've been all alone when she heard the news. What a moron!! Anyway, I think that part of the reason pc is so deadly is because doctors aren't up on the disease. Everyone knows to look for breast, colon, etc. That's why it's so important to get out the word on pc and raise money for earlier detection and a cure. My prayers are with you and your family. I ache knowing what you're going through. Stay on the board, if you can, the people here are so great and will give you tons of support. Love, teri
