Dear Lori: If your Mom is weak and unable to eat, would her doctors consider
tube feeding or feeding per IV. If she felt a little stronger, she could at
least make a more rational decision about what she wanted to do. Dehydrated
and starving people are not in the best shape to decide if they want more
therapy but no way should the doctors decide for her. There are things that
could help her live longer and heck every now and then a miracle happens and
people get better on their own. But if she can't eat, and is getting weaker,
something needs to happen soon to support her through this crisis.
