MARGARET
Margaret was diagnosed in June 2001 with pancreatic cancer. It surrounded
the celiac axis and arteries so it was unresectable. She was treated at JHU
with radiation and 5FU in July 2001 to control her symptoms. She passed away
at home on September 21, 2001 at the very young age of 57. She was under the
care of her husband, who retired to take care of her, and her son and
daughter.
Mom enjoyed everything Disney, having spent many, many vacations in Orlando.
She worked for the federal government for over 20 years, serving as an
assistant to the Honorable Robert M. Giaimo of CT, office manager for the US
House of Representatives Committee on the Budget, and assistant to the
chairman of the Federal Housing Finance Board. She was loved by many people.
She was survived by her husband Bob, sister Mary, son Rob, and daughter
Katherine.
