Just one more thought - lousy as this may sound - there is certainly is a school of thought that says that the patient can be better off with no treatment - just taking the time to fully enjoy their lives as much as possible for as long as possible - since not all patients respond well to the chemo and not all patients can get extra time and extra quality of life with the chemo. I know this all stinks - the whole situation is awful - good luck with these decisions - just try to do whatever you can to make your Mom as pain free and happy as possible - spend all the time with her you can - make sure she has a chance to enjoy her family and friends - make memories to last for your children - take photos and make videos - talk and enjoy each other. Shari.
