I was just looking for current info about the Whipple out of curiousity, and ran across this site. I thought you'd be interested to know that my Mom had a Whipple for bile duct cancer in 1969 when she was 43. About 10 months later they had to remove the rest of her pancreas due to complications, so she has been an insulin-dependent diabetic since that time. But she returned to teaching first grade within a year, retired in 1988, and is still healthy and active. Hang in there!
