Dear Peg: My dad has been treated for bile duct cancer for 7 months and has
never had a tumor marker (CA19-9) drawn after his first normal. His onc
prefers to go more on how dad feels and what his cat scans show---(his tumor
has never shown on cat scan so they just look at the place where it should
be--the stent marks the spot! and hope that it doesn't start showing up which
would mean it is growing. Dad has outlived his six month prognosis and is
looking forward to finishing his Gemzar and having some months of increased
strength and appetite! Best of luck!
