Good thinking, and good information. I belive it's true. But my wife has only had three infusions at half dosage, and platelet count is going slightly lower, but not yet alarmingly. I believe the count was 82 -- and I believe they don't really get alarmed until they reach about 20 or so. I sure do hope the lower count is because the Gemzar is working. However, I still have a 'rebellious' wife who won't take her meds on time or on schedule, who won't eat enough, etc. etc. etc. They had to give her two IVs before they would do the Gemzar infusion -- because of dehydration (and malnutrition). I try very, very hard -- but it may be one of those situation where you can lead a horse to water...but! Thanks so much for your help, all along this treacherous path.
