It is hard for me to second guess your Dad's doctor. Perhaps your Dad's CT and ca-19 readings have been positive enough to slow up his treatment. Suspending the treatment for a period of time is not necessarily a bad thing. Stopping all chem/rad over 12 months ago I am now faced with the question, should I start chemo again as a preventitive treatment or wait and start when the PC begins to cause me other problems? Time is an important factor when treating PC but I have found also that quality of life can be balanced also because the drugs that are being used now, like Gemzar, can show results within 2 weeks of treatment. The best thing of course is to discuss the exact treatment protocol with his doctor and then voice your concerns.
