Lisa,

My Dad only took Gemzar. However, my Mom did radiation treatments when she had lung cancer with mets to the brain. The radiation treatments absolutely wasted Mom. By the time they finished she was barely able to move. She really perked up after the radiation treatments were finished. I don't have any real experience with the combo of 5FU and radiation. (They were going to treat the mother of a colleague with 5FU and radiation prior to attempting a whipple. When they told her she might get so run down that they'd have to feed her via a tube, she said no thanks and chose no treatment at all.) In any case, I would guess that he'll begin getting better soon now that radiation is finished. Hopefully, he'll tolerate the Gemzar well.

Best of luck and peace,

Steve
