Pancreas CancerMy sensitive question was posted 09/30/2001 01:26 pm by Konnie
To all of you who responded to my 'sensitive' question I thank you from the
bottom of my heart!! It seems that this disease has robbed my husband of so
much of his dignity and his strength...I HATE IT because of the way it has
affected our lives!! It seems to me sometimes that as a caregiver and wife
of a man who spent his whole life looking out for others and doing always
just the right thing......its just another thing he has lost. He is SOooo
discouraged about all this that he refuses to discuss it with his Dr. or me.
He cries many times because of how he looks, what hes lost, his inability to
function as a husband and on and on. Sometimes he strikes out at me with
hurtful words and it takes all my strength to remember that 'this is NOT' my
husband speaking but the BEAST that has invaded his body...after he has an
outburst he always apologizes (with tears in his eyes)....HE IS a strong man
and for him to be reduced to tears at times just frustrates him and makes him
question if its all worth trying and going on.....I SAY IT IS!!!
Anyway thank you all I shall be watching the board and will keep hope for
ALL OF US........
