I know being thirsty is one of the signs. However my dad was diagnosed right after Christmas with PC. He was on one pill a day at that time for sugar. They increased it to two, shortly after. He then visited a hospital with my mom as she had an appointment. He was soooooo tired he told the nurse he could just lay on the floor and sleep. She took one look at him and they did a test. His count was something like 700. The doctors gave him insulin right there and sent him home with syringes and made arrangements for a nurse to be at his home in the morning. That was only 1 week after his doctor had increased his pills. Hope this info helps.
