When we prolong the dying process, it's more for us than the patient. It's so very hard to let go but the time comes when it's the best thing to do. My husband was put on fluids IV because he was dyhydrated. I was very upset when it was stopped after 48 hours but was told his body had taken all the fluid it could. He also wanted that IV out. Talk to your dad, hold his hand, rub his feet--just let him know you love him. That will help more than anything else you could do.
