David passed to another life this morning at 10:30 AM. He insisted I run out and mail our granddaughter's birthday present. She was born on the 4th. He sat up in a chair while I was gone. I helped him back to bed, he had a weak naseous spell, but got back to bed OK. Said he was comfortable, no pain. I gave him his tylenol and benedryl and hooked up his IV, told him it needed to be turned on in 20 min. I went to the kitchen and about 20 min went back to turn it on, He had just turned it on and was dozing, but breathing very ragged. He was cold and clammy, I called the hospice nurse, then he stopped breathing. I knew this was inevitable, but I really thought he was getting over the infection. I'm in shock. He's gone. There's nothing left to do.
