It sounds like thrush to me too. Some pharmacists carry 'gentian violet' (pronounced 'Jen-Son'). You will want 2% strength. Use a Q-Tip and wipe across the area. It's purple, it leaves the mouth purple for days and stains everything, but works overnight. My dad had thrush from all the chemo and antibiotics - it's like a yeast infection. Hope that helps!
