Cathy, I am sorry to hear of your husband's illness with this godawful
disease. If you have been following the board, you have probably read my
posts regarding my dad, who is 66. DX in Dec. of 99, he is very sick since
April; bowel obstruction, liver infections, cancer recurrance in liver.
However, he did have a 'good ride' as he says from Feb. 2000 until April
2001. He had a wonderful surgeon who we believe extended his life
expectancy, he received 5fu and radiation and since then there has been no
treatment. He also had other health problems, and has been very stubborn to
any alternative treatment. Currently, he is home with Hospice care and has
good and bad days. Is he a survivor?, so far. . keep plugging away to get
your husband the best possible care. Unfortunately, as I have mentioned in
previous posts, this is a very rare disease which means there is not much out
there. Good luck to both you and your husband, and feel free to contact via
