my mother just turned 61. before being inflicted, she was in very good
health... ate mostly vegetables and swam 4 days a week for the past 20
years. she did have pretty bad gallstones, and went to see a surgeon about 5
years ago to consider having it taken out. my mom tends to underestimate
problems and told the surgeon that she has big attacks about twice a year.
the surgeon said that there was no reason take it unless it was
uncomfortable. she decided not to have the surgery, as it seemed to be
elective. big mistake on her part.
