My mother at age 74 got a final diagnosis of Spindle Cell Carcinoma of the
Pancreas on 5/14/01. She started Gemzar on 5/16/01. Mother lives with me in
Miami Springs, FL. We have no other family in the area, so I am her only
caregiver. I am 36 and single so I must work, but my boss is very
understanding of the situation. I am hoping to keep her at home, but she is
confused and disoriented at times. I may have to think about a nursing home
or hospice. We have my 2 dogs, Jeannie and Bill, to protect us and keep us
company.
