JEFFA
Jim was diagnosed in the beginning of August 2000 with Pancreatic Cancer that
had spread to the lymph nodes, lungs, liver. He was hospitalized at the end
of that July due to being jaundiced. It was after being transferred to John
Hopkins Hospital that the diagnoses was made. He underwent a stent placement
for bile drainage and then into Chemotherapy with Gemzar being the agent
used. From September through January continued with the Gemzar. It was in
January that through a Cat Scan that it was determined that he was no longer
responding to the Chemo. Soon after that he entered Hospice Care. Since
inital diagnoses only major problem has been when stent has become blocked
and has had to be replaced twice. He continues to experience continuing
weight loss going from 220 to a current weight of about 140. Primary
caregiver is myself his life partner of almost 8 years.
