My dad is having whipple surgery today at 12:30. We are very worried because we have been told that recovery is drawn out and that quality of life for at least the first 6 mos is not good. Well this makes us real scared for my dad who is 71 yrs old and before this has never been ill except for a very few colds and that is really about it. If you can give me a bit of insight on how things are going and the progress that is going on it would help quite a bit and if anyone else can respond I would really appreciate it. It is quite comforting though from some of the things that I have read on this sight so far. My mom has a very grim outlook on the whole situation and I have 5 other sisters that have mixed outlooks. I try to look to the best for all possible situations but I do know what can also happen. I hope your grandfather is doing better.
